Very cozy, clean, tasty, friendly - also with the kids, a good price-performance ratio, also a small vegan selection and quickly finished / served quickly (Sunday, 5:00 p.m.). The espresso alone was only lukewarm when it arrived. Everything else was really great. We'll definitely be back!

We went there for afternoon coffee. The atmosphere in the restaurant was not very welcoming. We felt that the Corona protective measures were not implemented professionally there. E.g. At the moment, care products that everyone can use do not belong on the shelves of the washbasin in the toilet.

After a walk in the forest and a climbing tour on the keep, fortify yourself and enjoy the sun. Always nice and tasty!

Unfortunately, my experiences here are very mixed. In May 2019 I was a guest at a wedding celebration with excellent service and great food and drinks. I've often been there for coffee on Sundays and everything went smoothly. However, last Sunday (13.09.20) was a bitter disappointment. I was aware that it would be full on one of the last fine days of the year and that we would have to plan waiting times. However, absolutely nothing happened. The waiters all had tunnel vision. Then after 10 minutes I raised my hand to draw attention to us. We received the card with the information that food takes 30-40 minutes. We agreed with. Afterwards - exactly - nothing more happened! The waitress who gave us the menu didn't pay any attention to us, nor did anyone else. After another 25 minutes I spoke to another waitress who told me that I had to turn to someone else - what an irony of fate ... After another 10 minutes, I was finally able to speak to our first waitress and we should finally can order. I first ordered the wild herb salad and immediately received the information that it was over. At this point I was so annoyed that I left the bar with my boyfriend. Why is it not possible to notify directly when giving the card to guests if something is not available? It's a shame about the 45 minutes in total for nothing. I am a specialist myself and I fully understand when things can get hectic at peak times. But simply ignoring guests completely is an absolute no-go. The staff should really be worked on here. Hence three stars as the golden mean, as my first three visits over a year ago were absolutely satisfactory.

We were there as part of an event. Although all tables were occupied, orders were taken quickly and served quickly. The food was very good. The staff were very friendly 👍

Service completely overwhelmed! Unoccupied tables are only cleared before a table is cleared at the new customer. The condition forgets that you have ordered from her and don't know what kind of event she works for. Disappointing all round!

Great view, nice little old castle, very tasty ice cream! Only the ambience in the Hofcafé is not so nice ...

Saints Jacobean is a very fine work. It is one of the most important places in Göttingen that you should see when you come to Göttingen. You can also see the whole city from its tower. Therefore it is recommended to visit and also to see the church from you and from the outside.

Was there with my wife and two children to celebrate our anniversary. Nice pub with (for a eatery in a tourist attraction) really good food. You sit very nicely in the inner courtyard between the old farm building and the keep, but I don't know what it looks like inside. For the most part polite, attentive and efficient service. The adjacent cemetery is ideal for a digestive walk.

Great view, rustic atmosphere & delicious food

Beautiful view. Unfortunately, almost everything was closed. The hospitality had opened. Giant currywurst with fries for almost € 10 was over the top. Sausage from the glass. My salad with mozzarella, however, inexpensive and tasty. Very friendly service.

You can't get drunk there, because before the next beer comes, you're sure to be sober again. Bring time! 3/5 for the location :-)

An absolute favorite place around Göttingen. Delicious food, large portions and friendly service in a nice atmosphere. Great that this tavern also offers vegetarian dishes and vegan cakes, whether it's just a Hugo on the castle wall, a high-quality meal or a little something after a hike. Here you are always in good hands! Now and then the tenant even serves himself, always extremely friendly, always nice. I am very happy when the usual restaurant operations will be resumed, along with the supply from the kiosk.

The restaurant is idyllically located directly at the castle Plesse. The view is wonderful. The beer garden is beautiful. Why only 2 stars ?! The operation seems disorganized and overwhelmed. We wanted to give up our order several times, but without success. After more than 20 minutes and a complaint we were able to order.

Expensive and the food is not wonderful, it took ages for them to have our order ready, the location is nice, but apart from that I would recommend it only for coffee and cake.

It's a nice place for a walk. The castle is not so interesting and is mainly used as a restaurant, but there are nice views.

Don't know any castle like this! Here you can get a good impression of medieval fortification and a lot amazing impressions, too.

A nice excursion place. When the sun is shining you can stay there. Gastronomy with outdoor area rustic. Service very friendly.

A great historical place to visit with an astounding view above Göttingen. Located in the woods, it is nice and clean. There is also a restaurant right inside the fort. It is a must see.
